Situated at the edge of Stresa with a commanding view of the Borromees
islands, this lovely villa changed hands last winter and
has undergone a complete transformation.
There are fresh flowers everywhere, ...beautiful Murano chandeliers
in the
restaruant and comfortably furnished sitting rooms that give the
feeling of
being in a home..
The restaruant and the pool are located at the front of the hotel,
facing
Lake Maggiore . The property contains a tennis court, and a private
lakefront
area where guests can swim.
All rooms feature new marble bathrooms and decorative hand-painted
'frescoes'
on the walls, they also have satellite television, in-room safes
and minibars.
Driving Directions: From Malpensa airport, follow the new strada
direction
Malpensa, and just before arriving in Sesto Calende, the highway
splits.

The best view on Lake Maggiore is from Hotel Villa Aminta which
has a glorious view over the lake to Isola dei Pescatori and Isola
Bella. In a slightly raised position across the road from the lake,
it also has a lovely garden along the water's edge where you can
sit on the lawn under a shady tree and admire the view of the islands
in peace and seclusion. A magical spot, full of the old world atmosphere
which first attracted travellers to this lake over 100 years ago.
This is a stylish, well-run hotel with friendly, helpful staff and
an intimate, select atmosphere. A complimentary mini-bus service
into Stresa runs several times a day (not Sundays) and the hotel
boat can be hired by groups for trips to the islands and nearby
resorts. At Stresa Lido, a 10 minute walk, you can take the cable
car up to Mottarone peak to admire the spectacular views of Stresa
and the lake in its setting of Alpine peaks.
