The Tenuta di Lupinari is a hamlet lying amidst 750 acres of woods, vineyards and centuries old olive trees. The area has remained miraculously unspoilt and unchanged across the centuries, and today offers a striking oasis of peace and tranquility.

Tenuta di Lupinari is one of the largest private, family-owned estates in Chianti. The Castello Lupinari, home of the owners, was designed by the famous Italian architect, Coppede, at the turn of the century in the style of a mediaeval castle. The hamlet ('borgo') lies behind the castle, and has been completely reconstructed into 10 large and nicely appointed apartments designed for holiday rentals. There is a very large pool, a restaurant, and estate produce is available for sale to guests. Bucine is just to the south and west of Montevarchi, between Arezzo and Siena. The official vineyards of Chianti begin here and extend to the east, giving visitors ample opportunity to explore the small roads and hill towns of Tuscany. The town of Bucine is small but complete, with a Wednesday morning market and an excellent simple restaurant.

It is composed of a main rectangular building with a high tower, a loggia and extra story with frescos and geometric patterns., it was built around the turn of the twentieth century in the hills between

The apartments in the borgo are all fully serviced, have large bedrooms with ensuite facilities, spacious living rooms, large gardens and terraces. The apartments have been carefully restored with elegance and taste, and are furnished with antique pieces. A high level of comfort is ensured by each apartment (sleeping from 2 to 6 people) being supplied with its own telephone, television, kitchen and individual heating system.

A characteristic dirt road takes you past a double row of beautiful old cypresses and up past the old houses of the farm to the newly reconstructed borgo. A splendid pool (20 x 8 metres) occupies a sunny field to the south of the borgo, furnished with tables with umbrellas and chairs for reclining. The expansive view is picturesque with the mixture of trees, fields and small towns. In early morning, as the mist reveals the castle with green covered hills beyond, you can well understand why so many have fallen in love with Tuscany. In the evenings, guests can complete a perfect day with a traditional Tuscan meal in Lupinari's own private restaurant.

Facilities: little charming restaurant only for the hotel's guests (working only with a minimum of clients), reception, park around the swimming pool, external unattended parking.
Relax: swimming pool (mt. 20 X 8), open according to the weather, lake for fishing.
Distances: Florence 52 km, Siena 30 km, Perugia 80 km, Arezzo 25 km.

The A1 autostrada is just a 20 minute drive away, and Florence is 45 minutes by car. Alternatively, you can take the small roads and wind up and down the charming hill towns of Chianti; Castellina, Greve, Panzano, Radda and the like. Arezzo and the treasures of Piero della Francesca are a short drive away, and the gates of Siena are reachable in 30 minutes.
