All bookings are made with ClassicVacationRental.com acting
on behalf of the owners or our local representatives in Italy or Franceof private accommodations that
are not available on a “walk-in” basis. By signing
this Booking Form you and your party agree to the following conditions.
- Booking:
A
deposit of 50% of the property rental must be paid on booking
by wire transfer orbank check, money order, cashier's check sent by rapid, traceable mail.
On request we also take payment by major credit card; (There is a 2.5% credit card fee for both MasterCard and/or visa credit card use based on actual costs, Amex 3.5%)
Credit card charges are converted to Cdn dollars as our system is Cdn dollar based. The conversion is based on the “buy” exchange rate as posted on the bank’s website as at the date of the transaction.
No
contract with us will exist until we have received the deposit within
3 business days of agreeing to rent the property and the signed
Booking Form, specifying the rental period and party travelling,
and we have subsequently confirmed your booking.
Should
you later cancel, cancellation charges will become payable in accordance
with Cancellation paragraph below. We reserve the right to refuse
a booking without giving a reason. It is understood that this contract
satisfies transitory housing needs only and that the contract automatically
expires at the end of the rental period as stated on the Booking
Form. Neglect to vacate the rental property within its leased term
will automatically result in a daily fine of $200 in addition to
the pro-rated rent for occupying the rental property without a contract.
Any renewal of the contract will take place in the offices of CVR or its local representative. In
such circumstances, the rental rate will be re-negotiated, all utilities
bills must be paid and a reassessment of the security deposit will
be made.
Payment
of the Balance:
The balance due reflected on the Confirmation/Invoice must be paid
at least nine weeks before departure. If we do not receive the balance
by the due date, we shall be entitled to cancel the booking without
prejudice to our claim for cancellation charges and to retain the
deposit. For bookings made within nine weeks of departure date,
you will be required to pay the full cost of your stay at the time
of booking.
Travel Insurance:
We
strongly recommend you take our vacation
insurance to cover against unavoidable cancellation. Please refer
to webpage: www.insuremytrip.com
as one source of travel insurance; otherwise please refer to your
travel agent or local insurance agent.
Prices
- The prices on this web page
are based on prevailing exchange rates and are subject to change
at any time.

Currency:
If the price is quoted to you in Euros, it is best to send funds in euros to avoid any possible currency exchange fluctuations. If your bank makes it difficult for you to obtain Euros - please note many US banks initially indicate they do not know how to work with Euros - however if you insist, they can find out how to do a transaction - either wire transfer or bank draft - in Euros; Please note if you do convert to US$ the rate used must be a bank rate ( usually the bank "buy" rate - i.e. the higher of the two) not an internet rate as this more truly reflects actual conversion costs; if funds are converted there may be a currency adjustment prior to final payment as nearly all our prices are based on the Euro.
- On certain transactions you
may be subject to a US$35.00 fee to cover banking charges for
funds transfer and/or foreign exchange transaction fees.
- We reserve the right to adjust
the balance due us should there be a greater than 2% fluctuation
in the cost of currency.
- No refunds will be made for
exchange rate movements or cost adjustments that would otherwise
reduce the rental cost.
- We cannot be held responsible
for price discrepancies due to typographical errors. We reserve
the right to impose any taxes or charges that may be implemented
by the Government or other regulatory body, which were unknown
at time of going to press with this price list.

- You will nearly always have
to pay a security deposit, on arrival, in local currency
- this will vary for each property and you will be advised
at the time of booking.
- This can be paid in cash
or by traveller's cheque or, in some cases, by credit
card.
- The local keyholder
is not obliged to hand the keys over until the security
deposit has been paid.
- The deposit will be refunded
on departure directly by the local keyholder after deduction of any extra charges or
damages. Please settle your account before you check out;
Our North American reservations office will not be able
to collect outstanding deposit refunds

Payable Locally at Extra Cost
Items payable locally at extra cost, as specified in the price list,
may included: Telephone, cleaning services, heating and utilities
where applicable. For CVR properties that offer additional services
such as maid or cook, the request to employ such services, must
be made in writing at the time of booking. These services are not
guaranteed. Requests made after booking the property will be subject
to a $60 administrative charge.
Vouchers and Documentation
After full payment of the contract price, and within 14 days of
the rental date specified in the Confirmation Invoice, we will supply
the Client with the vouchers required and any additional information
regarding the rental property as may be needed by the Client.
Arrival |
- You should arrive between
4.00
pm and 7.00 pm on the day of commencement of your booking and
vacate before 10.00 am on
the day of departure.
- Please contact the key-holder
by telephone if you are delayed or request an exceptional
earlier or later check-in.
- If you are unable to take occupation on the day and
time reserved due to delay, illness, personal reasons
etc. or if you are unable to use the accommodation for
the entire length of the booking,no refund can be made.
If you would like to extend your rental, please contact
our office and they will tell you immediately whether
this is possible.
Your Responsibility
- You must take care of the
property and contents and respect the local rules. If
you break or damage anything in the vacation home you
must advise the keyholder or
local office immediately.
- You and your party will
be responsible for any breakage or damage made, unless
you can prove it was not your responsibility, and will
have to pay for replacements or repairs.
- You must leave the property
in good order and wash and put away all kitchen utensils
before your departure. The final cleaning by a third party
is usually included in the rental price or may be arranged
by paying a local extra charge.
- Occupation of the property
is strictly limited to the number of people indicated
on the voucher.
The
keyholder has the right to refuse
entry to extra people or charge a supplement. |
| Changes: |
If
you wish to change any accommodation arrangement we will
endeavour to do so. There will be a charge of $20.00 for
every change we are able to confirm. If, however, you request
a change of accommodation 42 days or less before arrival
date this will be treated as a cancellation and the following
cancellation charges will be due.
It
is unlikely we will have to make changes to your reservation.
If we are forced to do so we will advise you at the earliest
possible date and will offer you the option of accepting
the change or an alternative private accommodation of the
same value (if available) or a full refund of all monies
paid without further compensation. If any change is advised
less than 4 weeks before departure we will also offer compensation
of $50 per booking or a maximum of 10% if the total value
of the booking is less than $500 unless the change is due
to war, riot, industrial dispute, natural disaster, fire
or any other reason outside our control amounting to force
majeure.
Cancellation:
Cancellation Policies will vary by property rented. If not otherwise stated in the booking confirmation form the following shall apply:
It is agreed between us that should you wish to cancel all or any part of your booking, or that the booking is cancelled by us due to non-payment then we shall be entitled to the following percentage of the holiday cost.
Whenever the rental contract is revoked by you after it has been accepted, the following penalties will apply:
- 30% of total rental price is non refundable
- 50% of total rental price if cancellation is made between 8 and 6 weeks before the beginning of the letting period,
- 100% of total rental price if cancellation is made less than 6 weeks before the beginning of the letting period,
In case of cancellations, or outstanding payments, the client authorizes us to charge the credit card given as guarantee. Rental cancellations must be received in writing. In the event of cancellation, we will endeavor to re-let the property and refund the deposit and rental payment less a €295* administration fee, as well as any direct costs, including but not limited to bank fees, incurred in cancellation.
Cancellation of any pre paid programs, itineraries, cooking classes, wine tours, excursions, boat rentals, bicycle rentals, special dinners requested to be prepared in home, and any other services or special non-accommodation items that are pre arranged and pre paid – there shall be no refund, we will endeavor to obtain credits for these items if possible, however once the holiday has commenced there can be no refund for these items.
*To be charged in the currency of the rental price ( i.e. US$, Cdn$ or Euro as applicable) administration fee as well as any direct costs, including but not limited to bank fees, incurred in cancellation.
The client shall be liable for any loss sustained by ClassicVacationRental.com in making the cancellation.
Cancellations due to medical reasons can be covered by travel insurance. We strongly urge you to buy trip cancellation insurance to cover all non-refundable costs of your trip.
Tour Deposit and final payments are non refundable and non-transferable.
We have a 48-hour non-refundable cancellation policy for tours in Rome and 72-hour non-refundable cancellation policy for tours outside Rome.
Please note there are no refunds for items forming part of a prepaid tours or itinerary once the trip has begun unless otherwise noted. In all cases we will have confirmed all tours, excursions,guides, driving services, boat trips,cooking classes, meal preparation, concierge services and any other pre-arranged services before you made final payment, once departed cancellations made by the client during the course of the trip are NON refundable. In the case of mitigating circumstances we will do our best to receive a credit for future use, however there will be no refunds.
Change of Rental Period:
Substantial amendments to bookings, such as a change of dates or properties, or cancellations must be conveyed in writing and are subject to penalty charges and shall, at the discretion of the Rentor, be subject to the terms of the above paragraph headed “cancellation;” There will be a minimum change fee of US$25 for any substantive changes to be charged to the credit card held as guarantee.
Cleaning
The property will be clean throughout at the beginning of the rental period and must be left by the tenant clean throughout at the end of the rental period. If the property is not left in an acceptable condition, the sum of 40 Euros per person will be deducted from the security deposit. Linens are normally changed once per week.
Behavior
The client signing the contract is responsible for the correct and decent behavior of his party. Should the client and his party behave in a manner that is not acceptable by civilized standards, the keyholder may ask the client and his party to vacate the house.
Access to the Properties (Low Slung Cars, very large vans)
Most of our houses are located in the countryside. Some of them can be accessed only by unsealed roads and driveways. We therefore advise people intending to take sports, or low-slung car on holiday or large vans, to check with us first whether the access to the property allows for such a car.
Service Fees:
At our discretion, we will charge the following fees for services
- $25 for each subsequent credit card processed after ther first when groups of individuals are travelling together;
- $70 for Sunday or very early or late arrivals; Normal arrivals are 4 – 5 pm and departures by 10 a.m.; Early of late arrivals must be requested in advance
- $200 re-booking fee per accommodation
- $25 each for research and reservations for trains, hotels, and other special services. No charge for car reservations;
- Up to $200 for detailed, personalized itinerary planning with multiple stops; or large group arrangements

| Problems:
Upon
arrival, the Client should inspect the rental property.
If any problem(s) relating to the rental property exists,
the Client must notify the Property Owner/Manager immediately
so that the problem can be corrected. The Property Owner/Manager
will do everything possible in order to timely rectify any
problem with the rental property. |
| If
you should have a problem during your rental
you must inform the local keyholder
or office immediately who will endeavour to put things right.
The Client must allow the Property Owner/Manager
and/or ClassicVacationRental.com (CVR) sufficient time to
remedy the problem, or to find a suitable replacement property.
Vacating the rental property without authorization from
CVR does not constitute sufficient cause for a refund. Failure
to give notice of a complaint when it occurs during the
rental period and/or failure to remain in contact while
providing the Property Owner/ Manager, and CVR an opportunity
to remedy the complaint during the rental period will void
any claim following the rental period. Please note,
any refund offered to the client shall be limited to the
amount of the villa-booking price only.
In
serious cases you should call the office you booked through.
If your complaint cannot be completely resolved locally,
you must confirm your complaint in writing to the Customer
Service Department within 28 days of vacating the rental.
It is therefore a condition of this contract that you communicate
any problem to the local keyholder
or our office whilst on location. If you fail to follow
this simple and reasonable procedure we cannot accept responsibility
as we have been deprived of the opportunity to investigate
and rectify the problem. Complaints lodged only at the end of the holiday period will not be taken into consideration. Clients who abandon the house without authorization from SALOGI lose all rights to any eventual refund or rebate.
Our
properties:
We
have taken great care to ensure the details in our private
property descriptions are correct. If we should discover
any changes or errors, you will be advised without delay
and normally at the time of invoice before you accept the
accommodation.
If
we discover any changes after you have confirmed the booking,
we will of course advise you immediately and offer you the
option to accept the change or an alternative private rental
of equal value (if available) or a full refund of all monies
paid without further compensation. The homes we offer are
privately owned and furnished by the owners to their individual
wishes, taste and local standard. Some are luxurious, others
more moderate and some rather basic. Items such as dishes,
cutlery and bedding are always provided, but coffee makers,
teakettles or toasters cannot automatically be expected.
Since many homes in Europe do not have ovens, we always mention it in the description when
there is one available. Double beds are provided where the
description states "1 room with double bed".
"1 double bedroom" means 2 twin beds side by side or twin
mattresses on a double base. Where
"divan" is mentioned, it means a sleeper sofa
or similar seating convertible to sleep in the evening.
Please bear in mind that these additional sleeping possibilities
are often not as comfortable as regular beds. We regret
that we can not always answer specific questions about furnishing
details, availability of appliances or size of rooms if
not mentioned in the property description; neither can we
always provide floor plans or interior photographs.
Important
Information
Although every effort is made to maintain all rental properties
in good order, it should be noted that wear and tear of
rental properties is unavoidable. For this reason, damaged
furnishings may be replaced, and occasionally, hot water
installations, swimming pools, toilets and utilities may
need repair. As is customary in Italy, it may take time to engage
a worker to obtain parts, and your patience is appreciated.
The vast majority of CVR Clients derive great pleasure from
the rentals offered by CVR. If something does go wrong please
follow the instructions set forth above and make appropriate
allowance for remedy. Failure to comply with the above provisions
and/or to accept the good faith remedies offered by CVR
during the rental period will void any claim following the
rental period. CVR will not offer a remedy for any problem,
issue or complaint raised after the rental period.
OUR FRENCH AND ITALIAN
PROPERTIES ARE MOSTLY CONVERTED FARMHOUSES, Manor houses
or villas.
Due to long summers, water shortages do occur. Please
use water as sparingly as possible.
Electricity, limiters that can cut off the supply
or electricity, if too many appliances are used at once,
may be installed in some properties.
These converted properties may not be official tourist
structures such as hotels, residences etc but private houses.
Being such, they do not have standards or categories that
are internationally recognized, rather they reflect, in
their architecture and furnishings, the local traditions
and personal taste of the owner.
We offer the chance to partake in the culture of
the area chosen, living for a few weeks in the same surroundings
as a local inhabitant would.
In order to live this experience in the right spirit,
it is important not only that the client accepts but also
that he will be able to appreciate the differences in the
properties offered. We have carefully chosen such properties
using a minimum and maximum quality range within which it
believes that any European; indeed any citizen of the world
can find total satisfaction.
We cannot however, exclude the possibility that
these differences can sometimes result in minor inconveniences
due to the special nature of its architecture and the traditions
in the area - but which cannot be accepted as complaints. |
Our responsibility:
| We
accept responsibility to ensure that the property, which
you booked with us, is supplied as confirmed and the services
offered reach a reasonable standard. We cannot guarantee
resort facilities will be open in the low season. Swimming
pools are normally open only during the main season. We
cannot accept responsibility for any interruption in services,
such as gas, electricity and water, over which we have no
direct control. |

Responsibility: Neither we, as representatives for the Property Owners nor the Property
owners shall be responsible for the death or personal injury of
you or nay person named on the Booking Form or other
person at the property. We shall not be liable for any loss, breach
or delay due to any cause beyond our reasonable control including
though not limited to Act of God, explosion, flood, tempest, fire
or accidents, war or threat of war, civil disturbance, acts of terrorism,
regulations, by-laws, or measures of any kind on the part of any
governmental or local authority, strikes, lock outs, or other industrial
actions, or disputes or adverse weather conditions. In any such
case we shall be entitled to treat the contract as discharged.
In the event of such discharge our liability shall be dependant
on the arrangements with the specific property, limited to the return
of sums paid to us in respect of the unused portion of the holiday
calculated on a pro rata daily basis less an administrative charge
of US$75.00 to cover reasonable expenses.
We cannot be held responsible for breakdown of mechanical equipments
such as pumps, boilers, swimming pool filtration systems, etc, nor
for the failure of public utilities such water, gas and electricity.
Rates
are always quoted in Euros unless otherwise noted and are
subject to change in the case of currency fluctuation or changes
in tariff. Any additional charges such as Heating, Electricity,
Service charges, taxes and other additional charges, will be specified
in the property's description and on your confirmation form.
Acceptance & Payment
By signing the rental booking form
you agree to accept and abide by the terms and conditions of this
contract. Further, you acknowledge having been fully apprised of
all information conveyed by ClassicVacationRental.com (CVR) regarding
the rental property. Please note, for any communication and/or correspondence,
CVR will only correspond with and direct all communications to the
Client signing below.
Rental Cars - Should you encounter any problems with your rental car you should immediately call the number give on your contract ( there is a toll free, 24 hour number on the contract); If you are unhappy with the vehicle please also call this number. CVR acts as an agent for AutoEurope and is not responsible for any complaints or problems you may encounter with the vehicle. Problems must be notified while in possession of the vehicle, issues cannot be resolved after the vehicle has been returned.
